Chemical Peel

What is Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a medical aesthetics, skin-resurfacing treatment that improves the appearance of your overall skin tone and texture through the application of a chemical solution. The team at Aesthetic Beauty offers superficial and medium chemical peels. Each type of chemical peel uses a different solution, and the deeper the peel, the longer the recovery time, but also the more dramatic the results.

Light and medium chemical peels are in-office procedures and you can get them more than once. A deep chemical peel is reserved for severe skin conditions and you can only receive one. In some cases, you may combine a light or medium peel with a microdermabrasion treatment or facial.

How do chemical peel work?

During the procedure, your aesthetic specialist applies the solution to your face for a certain amount of time. You may feel a tingling sensation or mild stinging while the chemical solution is on your skin. After, you might receive a neutralizing solution to end the treatment, or your provider washes the acid from your skin.

Afterward, your skin will be red and mildly irritated. You’ll receive an application of hydrating skin care cream to protect your skin. Depending on the type of peel you have, you can expect your skin to peel, as if you have a slight sunburn.

Am I a good candidate for a chemical peel?

Chemical peels address a variety of skin concerns, so if you have any of the following, this may be an ideal solution:

  • Age spots and discoloration
  • Freckles
  • Rough skin texture
  • Sun damage
  • Acne or acne scarring
